It’s been a long while since we posted an update here. A lot has happened since then - and it’s all good news! The backend of Scantry is about 90% complete. The application is capable of scanning the barcodes of 3.8 million different food items, and storing them in your inventory, with notes on quantity and expiration date. This is huge! We’re happy to announce that Scantry is in the development phase! Currently, I’m working on designing the backend structure for the application. This is as much a learning process as it is a new venture, so we appreciate everyone’s patience during my first foray into iOS development. We’ve also finished with mockups of the application’s user interface, and have just barely begun structuring the UI in the code. Though we’ve already spent plenty of time speaking with friends and family, we are officially moving Scantry into the requirements gathering phase! With this phase has come the introduction of the marketing site, a new system for formally tracking feature requests/ideas, and the beginning of the UI design.
